Born in China into a family of musicians, he obtained a 1er He received prizes in violin and chamber music from the Xi'an Conservatory of Music. During his studies, he benefited from the guidance of renowned masters such as Isaac Stern and Yehudi Menuhin. He won First Prize at the Five Provinces Competition in China in 1983.

Between 1984 and 1987, he received the Higher Diplomas for Concert Violinist and Chamber Music from the École Normale de Musique de Paris.

With pianist Yuanyuan Li, he founded his duo in 1985, with numerous concerts and recitals in Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Africa, China and France.

Winner of the Vierzon International Sonata Competition, the press praises his playing for “the sensitivity of his vibrato which offers a beautiful musical discourse which knows how to unite harmoniously with the other instruments”, (La Montagne).

He is a regular guest at numerous music festivals: the Touquet International Festival, the Haut-Quercy Music Festival, the Bourges Festival "A Summer in Bourges", the Senlis Festival, etc. "It's a pure moment of happiness...subtle in the musician's playing, ethereal, light in its virtuosity. Since 1989, he has been the first solo violinist of the Orchestre National en région de Picardie. Concurrently, he is invited as a soloist and conductor by numerous orchestras in China. His experience as an orchestral musician has strongly influenced his conducting style, contributing to its distinctive character.

In 1993, he recorded his first CD with Yuanyuan Li, entitled "The Master Pieces of China".

In 1998, he and Yuanyuan Li founded the Golden Palm Association to develop cultural exchanges between France and China. Since then, around thirty French musical groups have traveled to China to introduce Chinese audiences to the music of French and European composers. At the same time, numerous Chinese groups, both adults and young people, have come to France to participate in music festivals, notably the Eurochestries International Festival.

Since 2008, he has been the vice-president of Eurochestries International, an international festival for young artists from several countries: France, Poland, Spain, Czech Republic, Canada, China...

Taiping Wang is also a visiting professor at the music conservatories of Wuhan, Shanghai and Beijing.

Since 2014, he has been the Music Director of the Symphony Orchestra of Rail (Paris, France)
