Organization of concerts

From 2006 to 2017, the Eurochestries offered the possibility for orchestras participating in a festival in France to visit the capital

and give a concert there, thanks to the partnership woven with the association "Le Concert de Monsieur de Saint-George"

and its president Alain Guédé.

The association “Le Concert de Monsieur Saint-George”, created in 2000, works to rediscover the music of the “Chevalier de Saint-George” and to rehabilitate this man of exceptional generosity who was undoubtedly the first great artist involved.

It adopted this name in homage to the formations that Saint-George directed such as “The Concert of the Amateurs” and “The Concert of the Olympic” or in front of which it was distinguished like “The Spiritual Concert”. The philosophy of this association largely meets the main lines of the action of the Eurochestries.

In 2003, a first joint action resulted in a major concert with the Montreal orchestra which accompanied the solo violinist of Martinican origin Anne-Estell Médouze who is now supersolist of the Orchester d'Ile de France. In 2004, Alain Guédé was able to make a lecture tour in Russia within the framework of the Eurochestries Festivals. From 2005, the orchestras and ensembles participating in these festivals were invited to play a work by Saint-George. From 2007, the Young Chamber Orchestra “Alvarez Beigbeder” of Jerez (Spain) and the Young Orchestra of Saint-Petersburg performed regularly in Paris, thanks to this association and to the Eurochestries. It should be noted that the Young String Orchestra of Kosice (Slovakia) "Musica Iuvenalis" had been able to perform, and this is unusual, at the Maison d'Arrêt de Fleury-Merogis, of which he has kept wonderful memories.
