THE FESTIVALS

The Eurochestries Festival in Punta Umbria was born in 2006 on the initiative of Francisco ESCOBAR, director of the Conservatory of Music of the City of Punta Umbria, in the region of Huelva, Andalusia. Like the other Festivals in our network, these meetings of young instrumentalists from all over Europe took place for ten days in the south of Spain, between Cadiz and the Portuguese border, both to play their own repertoire during the ten concerts organized on the territory but also to work together on a common work intended to be played during the closing concert by this “great European orchestra” created for the occasion.

Each year, this Festival has welcomed a little more than 130 musicians to provide ten concerts in the territory of Huelva and this to the great pleasure of the many spectators.

The reception took place in a privileged place, by the sea, in apartments for 2, 3 or 4 people. This friendly and sympathetic place of life has brought to the instrumentalists the comfort and calm necessary for good reception conditions. These infrastructures located by the sea allowed musicians to visit this charming fishing port as well as the city center, typically Andalusian.
