"Musical Olympiads" | 2024 Edition
This Festival is the oldest in the Eurochestries network, since it has its roots in the festival organized in Charente in 1989.
The Eurochestries Charente-Maritime festival has been welcoming 350 high-level young musicians, aged 15 to 25, from different countries around the world every year since 1989. For nearly two weeks, 65 concerts take place throughout the territory of Charente-Maritime, Charente and Gironde.
The festival welcomes symphony orchestras, string orchestras, choirs and chamber music ensembles to the Lycée de Pons. Located between land and sea, it offers musicians a variety of tourist discoveries, from the Atlantic coast to the hillsides of the Cognac and Pineau regions.
Every morning is used for international rehearsals made up of musicians of all nationalities, in order to prepare for the two closing concerts which take place in Jonzac and Pons.
Through its festivals, veritable summer workshops and fraternity projects for young people, the Eurochestries work to build a responsible and civic-minded youth, around five axes: connection, sharing, commitment, sense of effort, responsibility.
