Marco Toledo


Doctor in Musicology at the University of Toulouse II Le Mirail (France) and Doctor in Music Education at the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil). Professor of wind instruments at the music department of the Federal University of Ceará (Sobral - Brazil).


He heads the PesquisaMus (a research group in music education) where he develops international cooperation projects mainly with universities in Canada and France with his thesis and master students. As a clarinetist and saxophonist, he studied with several renowned teachers in Rio de Janeiro and was a member of the main orchestra of the Brazilian Navy Infantry between 1997 and 2007. In the city of Rio de Janeiro, he s 'is produced as an instrumentalist with several groups and alongside great personalities of popular Brazilian music.


Currently, he works as an instrumentalist in projects in Brazil and abroad related to teaching, mainly as a teacher of clarinet, saxophone and as a guest conductor in several international music festivals. He is conductor of the Regional Harmony of North do Ceará (Sobral - Brazil) and clarinetist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Federal University of Ceará in Sobral.


Marco started at the Eurochestries in 2008 where he participated as an orchestra delegate at the Festival de Charente Maritime, a position he has held on several occasions. In 2009, he organized the arrival of the Pró-Musica orchestra in France, the first Brazilian group to participate in the Eurochestries. Since then, he has organized the coming of several Brazilian groups to the Eurochestries in the world and since 2013 organizes the Latin American Edition of the Festival in the city of Sobral.
